A Dream Come True!

I'm sitting in a dream space in my brother's home in Cincinnati making cards with the other two Rodgers girls, niece Lexi and sister Chrissie. I am in heaven!

Friday - Long Day

Crossed several time zones, nearly finished my book and had a good airplane conversation with a guy from California, KY, who was traveling home from a business trip to Colorado Springs. Unpacked, face washed and safely tucked in bed although my head is still humming from airplane noise. Not feeling sleepy. Just tired. And a little hungry.

John the Father

Yes, Virginia, there is a brother. Posted via cell phone.

Three Letterboxing Sleuths

It was a frustrating excursion with a 50% success rate. Now on to Emerald Isle and KFC. Posted via cell phone.

Old West Festival is a Bust

We didn't even get out of the car. Fell short of our expectations. Not worthy of our wallets. On to some letterboxing. Wish us luck. Posted via cell phone.

Sunday Morning Comin' Down

FINALLY got some sleep last night. Slept a FULL ten hours, something I haven't done in years. I guess I needed it. Today we are planning an excursion to Williamsburg, Ohio, for the Old West Festival.

The first two days have been a blur. Got into Cincinnati airport about a half hour late at 12:30 in the morning. After chatting for awhile, we parted ways for the night, I unpacked a bit and finally tumbled into bed at 3AM. Rousted four hours later for a fun-filled day of card-making at Stamp Your Art Out, shopping at scrap stores and then going to watch Lexi in her third basketball game of the day at St. Veronica's. Somewhere in there, we stopped at Gold Star Chili for my first chili fix.

Lexi came back to Mom's with us and we played Skip-Bo until we all nearly fell asleep at the table. Then I got my good night's sleep and now cooling my heels waiting for Mom to return from Mass. Then we head to Williamsburg. I feel like a new person with some rest.

Ticket to Bride

Well, folks, he has broken my heart again and chosen an independently wealthy American six years younger than I. Oh, well, c'est la vie. As my Mom told me forty-two years ago, "You didn't really think he was going to wait for you, did you?"

And on what would have been John Lennon's 71st birthday. What a tribute!

Indiana Filling Station

IndianaGasStation

Now that the Club Scrap Pro Scrapbooking League has started up again, you will be seeing lots of layouts from me. Here are two from my 2009 visit to Cincinnati. The one above depicts a “faux” filling station we came across on our road trip to Indiana. All sorts of old signs and gas station equipment, just along the side of the road, obviously owned by the homeowners next door. It was made to look like an old gas station, but John felt the guy built it from scratch to house his collections.

Next layout is one of the many I will submit from Lexi’s dance recital. This is the girls performing to 9 to 5. Very cute and Lexi looks like a real pro.
